Who is this guy?
Former Camp Keewaydin guide and staffman who, between 1989 and 1999, led seven expeditions over six weeks in length and participated in the planning of many others.
Descended various rivers to Hudson or James Bay in Ontario and Quebec seven times.
Descended the Rupert River three times: 1992, 1993, 1998.
Traveled with Cree elder Matthew Wapachee on the lower Rupert.
Conferred with his mentor Dan Carpenter Jr., who has descended the upper Rupert, Eastmain, Tichegami, Sakami, Old Factory and Opinaca Rivers.
Someone who does his homework thoroughly before embarking on any expedition and may very well be an expert at finding the "Indian trail".
Resides in Brooklyn with his wife, Christine, and their "Great American Husky-moyad" Sugarfoot. In the off-season, he is a sculptor and lectures in philosophy at Hofstra University and the College of Staten Island. Most importantly, he rolls around in piles and piles of maps expanding upon his dreams of exploring more Cree routes off the Rupert.
