Black ice Under cotton-ball clouds, the ice thins and black ice expands. There is growing open water on lakes Timiskaming and Nipissing. Since April 21 day- and night-time temperatures have ranged between 0 and 10 C.
False colour, like infrared, enhances the view of ice and snow.
