Even woodpeckers need personal time A mother pileated woodpecker (right) seeking some quiet time away from her demanding fledgling. Jack captured this red pine moment in the Southwest Arm of Lake Temagami. The fledgling's brother fell out of the nest and was rescued by Spencer Johnson. Nick and Cheryl Ruddock from White Bear took it to a woman in Marten River who helps mend sick birds. |
