Break-up Watch 2014 - April 27

The melt continues. The snow line has shifted slightly north and small lakes are opening north of Nipissing. Harold Keevil reports Lake Muskoka opened late today. The area around the mouth of the Sturgeon River on Lake Nipissing and southern Lake Timiskaming are also open. But there is still free ice on the east end of Lake Erie, across Georgian Bay and on Lake Simcoe.
