Break-up Watch 2015 - April 19     

The big picture: ice remains on Lake Simcoe and Georgian Bay. Snow is on ground north of Lake Nipissing.

Here's a benchmark on the approach of break-up. There is still ice on Georgian Bay and Lake Simcoe. The small lakes south of Lake Nipissing remain closed. The snow line (ground snow) is north of Lake Nipissing and the Ottawa River with Algonquin Park as an island.

Last year break-up was May 14, in 2012 April 11. Compare this image to last year's image on the same date.
