Freeze-up Watch 2015 (false colour) - Dec 28 |

![]() |
Ever seen a winter like this? Wondering why satellite images weren't posted earlier? There were none. Not a single view through the clouds since December 7. And then only a crack that revealed no ice -- anywhere. There was a short bout of ice on small lakes around November 28 but it couldn't survive the weather reversal. And here we are, post-Christmas, with the first wink of a view, much in shadow, of the big lakes and a detectable creep of ice into Temagami. Lakes are frozen to the north, including Sucker Gut, and Timiskaming is beginning freeze-up at its north end. Last year the freeze-up was December 29. Bob Farr's prediction on the previous page has come to pass.
