Folks Hello,
I am curious as to exactly what The Elephant is in terms of rock climbing.
Is it a technical climb, or more of a scramble using hands?
I also noticed another section coded as a climbing corridor up north of there.
I am asking as a couple of friends are both climbers and paddlers and if The Elephant is more than just a rigorous hike, we would travel there and they could climb while I fished or whittled or something equally not potentially life ending (rock climbing is, in essence, a foolish pursuit for which I have tremendous regard and admiration and will never do...again).
Anyway, it is intriguing to say the least and I cannot seem to get a straight explanation from Google, so I turn to the source on all matters Temagami...this Forum.

other than that...had a wonderful trip down the Montreal to Smoothwater to Sunnywater up to Kaa then down the Lady Evelyn out to Diamond and down Temagami to Camp Kewaydin and out at the access point on Finlayson Point.
plus another three trips up to the Naiscoot and The Magnetewan. So perfect in there and half the drive.
Back now, downtown. I forgot about the traffic, the crime and the human misery.
The jungle is a lot tougher than the wilderness by my mind. Still a few more years to go before I am done with it.
be well on all your journeys.
JR

The Elephant is a hike, steep in a spot, but easy (unless you take another route). Not a climbers idea of climbing. Stick to the corridor marked here:
