Update: Ground and air search for Daniel continued today, covering a lot of area. All information shared is being checked out. The OPP are planning on carrying on with the air search tomorrow.

We remain hopeful and appreciate the efforts of all, including Bear Island Police assisting with water search efforts.

I was up on Maple Mtn in July and had the pleasure of meeting Dan up there, albeit briefly. At that time he was pretty fixated with Ishpatina on the horizon but didn't mention any actual plans. It may not be of any use and I wish I could do something more to help. Great guy. Get home soon and safely!

Is Ishpatina the ridge (highest point)? If so, he mentioned this to us as well and OPP chopper have checked that area out. Thanks for your concerns. We'll see what unfolds in today's search.

Hoping that he will be found hunkered down in a cabin somewhere. Hang in there Mr. and Mrs. Trask.

Alex took us to the ceremony site and my wife and I walked into Chee-skon and to the camp site across from spirit rock. Very quiet and no signs.

Hello - I'm a new member - do you know if all of the cabins in and around the area were checked?

Yes, all cabins in and around the area have been checked, including those that Daniel spoke about (he was up there for most of the summer, so is somewhat familiar with what's there).

Dan was camping at the Lady Evelin falls, he really liked the place where he had a vision quest. He could be at Hap's cabin

Ronin: When did you see him there? Recently or in the summer?
If it was recently:
there are several falls on the Lady Evelyn River.Did you see him at Cabin Falls on the south branch of the LER, which is near Haps cabin, or at some other location?

Update: Weather this afternoon prevented OPP air search, will see how it is tomorrow. Leads continuing, including those from this site are being checked. It's been a heck of a week for us, he's out there somewhere, with all of us on the case, we believe he will be found.

Yes, this summer in July he's been camping near the falls I understood .. he has just passed Hap's cabin and there he camped. Back then he did not know about the caves by Shangra La Falls on the Lady Evelyn River

Thanks for the update ronin, Daniel has mentioned caves, but we couldn't remember where, he's been to so many places up there. He did mention passing Hap's place, thought it was a Ranger's place, so didn't check it out, maybe this time he decided to check? I'm in the process of checking with Hap.

Hap doesn't use the cabin on a regular basis - but the old cabin is kept unlocked, so that it could be used as an emergency shelter.

I'm assuming someone has already checked this cabin?

Yes, yesterday he went there with Don Wright, no sign of anyone having been there. They have also checked with Sevan, he has not seen or heard from Daniel, but, today is another day.
