Funny how television and radio was free to users in return for having to tolerate advertising. Then someone said hey, lets tell everyone that better technology is here for a monthly fee. So now we pay to watch and listen to commercials. |

How accurate is the weather? We try and get a few local stations and compare their weather reports... can Sirius provide local weather? |

I dont think that you can get local weather on Sirius? Take a small portable am/fm radio with you? You can usually pick up an am station late at night ? I can usualy get CFRB in Toronto up there? I sometimes get Sudbury on FM. oh ya...the weather forecast is never accurate anyway? Leave the radio at home and look out side the tent flap for the latest forecast. |

We have XM and Sirius, both work fine. In fact, with a Sirius portable unit, I can listen from the dock. The only requirement is a clear view of the sky. Here's the footprint for Sirius. As you can see, the signal can be received as far north as the Arctic Circle. Temagami may be cold, but at 46N, it's nowhere near the Actic Circle. http://satelliteradio.digitalinsurrection.com/imag es/siriusfootprint.gif http://www.lounge0101.com/images/footprintxm.gif |
