Just wondering if anyone has an idea of when the ice will be out in Rabbit Lake this year? Thanks |

trailblazer, it all depends on where you on the lake. i'm on the south end and it's usually the last bit to thaw. i'm making a personal prediction of the last weekend of april. |

I still say first week of May for sure.. but with the heat wave maybe last week of April. I know that a survey crew 4 wheeled and sleded across Cassels/Sunrise and up to Loraine lake last Monday and Tuesday. |

To do what LAND surveyors do.. stake off an existing parcel of land to satisfy an MNR land use permit. |

Ice is getting a bit blacker everyday and alot more spongier along shore where there is ice. Still traveling by sled where out in the middle I would guess there is still a foot or more, but starting to candle through. There is no snow to lube the sliders, so you have to take your time to prevent melting them, or you can pass over a bit of open water to keep them wet. Works for me. |

i'm heading up this weekend, however i just had some pictures sent to me, and the southern access point is a write-off. the docks weren't taken out so they're completely destroyed and will soon be submerged, and the landing is washed out. no word yet as to the condition of the road. gotta love paying taxes and getting nothing in return. |
