been to the cottage on the weekend 5 to 6 inches of ice from town to bell island thin to no ice after bell island

the forecast shows plenty of c-cold weather for ice making coming up....things will tighten up nicely now.hopefully get some good ice before the snow starts to pile up....cheers

there was no snow on ice on weekend giant skate rink from town to bell is. very nice solid ice

Gasman...can you tell me, do you know if there is any travel up and down the NE arm as of yet??Ive watched your weather ..and it was brutally cold for a few days and nights ! probably great ice making conditions...especially as you stated earlier, no snow ..but really good ice to Bell Island....thx

I suspect so Peter... told there's 20" of ice at my dock and a truck has plowed from town to Bell Island.

We heard there was some snow on the lake. Just wondering if that has affected travel on the NE arm. Hoping to make it up for the new year.

there is some slush under un packed snow but pack trails are good and lots of travel

20+ inches of snow on top of the ice... LOTS of slush fields a good foot deep as of Sunday past. As for the cold snap.. -41 C three mornings in a row.. but it was a dry cold! lol

I hear we got a partial melt down.. hopefully enough to stiffen everything up. Wife and I almost left our 500 and portable hut out by the axe narrows for lake structure on the 5th! Tough gal.. slush smashing off the back of her head and instantly freezing there!

just back from the cottage last weekend ice road from town was slushy and lots of slush under the unpacked snow di get snow on weekend but got cold again sunday night and going the be cold all week will we back in two weeks again

Ok tell me the slush is a thing of the past on the lake now....it's been extremely cold....nothing worse than getting mixed up in that mess....let us know gasman upon your return....thx
