I watched an edition of the tv show "Survivorman" yesterday. The host/main person in the show is Les Stroud. In this episode he travels to Temagami and is later placed by float plane into the bush where he must survive using only the tools he has with him. In this epsiode he had a mockup of a crashed float plane to use for shelter, etc.

Does anyone know where in the Temagami area this was filmed? I have been coming to the area yearly since I was a kid but did not recognize andy landmarks to give away the location.

That was a small lake just east of Lorrain Lake.

I watched last nights episode aired on February 02, 2009, and again...try as I might I couldn't figure out where Les and Bob were located in the Temagami area. There was a glimpse of a map on the lap top of the search and recue team, but too small and blurry to tell. Also what scale was the map? The second clue was it only took 3/4 of a day for the search and rescue team to find them from an ATV trail. The ATV must have been dropped of by truck, so there has to be SOME kind of road nearby. Or are there more old roads than I am aware of?

My best guess would be in the Florence Lake area???

Les has filmed two shows in Temagami. Mock floatplane crash east of Lorrain Lake and Mock OPP/ATV rescue near Reuben.
