After this past winter with ideal conditions..I was wondering if the ice and travelling conditions are still ideal..or is the slush starting to come up. Wanting to get one more trip for more snowmobiling....unless its getting sloppy now...any input would be greatly appreciated thx |

It's an absolute mess as of Saturday morning. 8" of fresh WET snow Thursday am... ice road from Town is trashed and wet and we pulled out this morning. Main sled trail may be good down the arm if you stick tight to the trail markers, but if you get off any marked trail you'll be into about 16" of wet snow and LOTS of water underneath. Still 36" of ice or so out there... wife and I barely made it back out of Kokoko on Wednesday. You can do it.. just travel smart. Shovels on sled and I'd suggest ... well. |

Who would have thought that would be subject to rejection? That is the name of a well known tool, not a process. |

Not good Vike, all the lakes very slushy. You might want to try first week of May, sledding should be very good then!! Sorry Ed. |

Bush Pilot: I was thinking ~mid May for ice-out on Temagami this year. In any event, I am sure you will keep us updated as the process evolves. As it turns out, I cannot go out until after May 18th this year, so mentally, I am already resigned to a late start date.

Like I said.. you've got to travel smart peterme and Kokoko is a regular spot for me and the lads to ice fish. Shovel, jack, portable hut behind for emergency shelter if nothing else c/w 20lbs of propane and heater. If all else fails, I also carry my SPOT, out of my airplane, and I push the help button if things go to hell in a handbasket! |
