All the parks are closed and an area near Finlayson Road in the town is under evacuation order.

Today, I understand that MNR has diverted attack resources from the wilderness areas to populated areas. Helicopters are flying around Lady Evelyn park looking for people and telling them to evacuate.

Fire ban remains in place from Sault Ste. Marie to the Ottawa River.

Keewaydin Camp evacuated early this morning to Nipissing College dorms in North Bay. This is about half the camp of younger campers that trip in Temagami. The other half are the long trips up north and not affected by the Temagami fires.

Here's the provincial update on the Lady Evelyn Fire Cluster as of last night:

"The North Bay 72 fire remains at 27,579 hectares and is not yet under control. The fire was scanned from the air early in the morning. Infrared scanning identifies areas that are holding heat so FireRangers can walk the fire and extinguish the hot spots.

The Incident Management Team assigned to this cluster continues to observe North Bay fires 18, 19, 46, 59 and 61. These fires will also be scanned using infrared technology in the coming days."

You can follow the site for daily updates at:

https://www.ontario.ca/page/forest-fires

Also this interactive map from NRC is regularly updated (Click on the "Overlays" drop down list for views of fire perimeter, hotspots, etc):
