Lakers are already down 80 feet.. water surface is 73F. Bass are under every rock and at pest quantities. You'll probably find pickeral holding in 30 to 35 FOW off humps or shoals.

Castin' into shore with Buckeye Snakes always seems to land a few nice bass as they take to warmer waters.

I'm heading to Temagami last week in September - never been there before - I understand that the park office is closed and info on staying there and paying instructions are by office - are elec and water sites still available even with office closed? are docks far from camping sites? - I have a camper on a pickup truck - any thoughts on what to use for fishing and where? - I would really appreciate any info that someone can give me - thank you

According to the Ontario Parks 2010 Guide, Finlayson is closed as of September 26th.
That usually means that the Park is gated.
You can read the Guide by going here:
http://www.ontarioparks.com/english/parksguide.htm l

In many of the northern parks the office at the gate is closed just after Labour Day, when the summer staff are finished. But the Parks remain open until later in the month on a self serve basis. In the not too distant past they mostly closed a week earlier, around the 3 week of September. This year it is a week later. If you look at the Park's Guide you should be able to locate other parks that are still open.
For example Restoule is open until Nov.28th, Grundy, Oct.12th and Arrowhead Oct. 12th.

My reply was based on your post:
"I'm heading to Temagami last week in September - never been there before "
I assumed you meant the week of September 27th after the park is closed for the Season.
I have been there on numerous occasions, but I am leaving early tomorrow for Temagami, so I am unable to answer your questions, but you could post them and see if someone will try to respond.

Sorry ed - I should have been more specific - I'm heading up there 9/20 to 9/24 - thanks - if someone else would be so kind to answer some questions I sure would appreciate it - when you go to a place the first time you wonder about a lot of things - some questions - since the office is closed at this time of year are there sites with elec and water available? after launching the boat can I tie it along the shore near to where I'm camping? is it safe to do that? are their park employees around even with the office closed? are there sites near the water? finally - where is the best place to fish for walleyes and bass - hope they are biting this time of year - thank you for any answers given - Joe
