I just checked out Gerry's Pictures, they are great. Sure brings back alot of memories of when I lived on Bear Island. The excitement, exhileration and yes, sometimes fear, of the that first trip across new ice. I was just thinking that it sure builds character to grow up in an isolated area like Lake Temagami. Now is the time that everyone hopes the weather stays cold and that the snow stays away. The hopes and wishes for a good freeze up is there. I chuckled when I read that someone had went in a boat by cattle island. I called my Aunt on Bear Island last night and she mentioned that someone had went charging through the new ice. Whenever someone decides to do this for what ever reason usually are not very popular for a short time. Worse yet they usually are remembered for the years to come for making such a faux pas.

Well, people this is great to hear from people who knew others from Bear Island. This is pat, Gerry Gooderham's sis. And WOW! Gerry has done a terrific job with his pictures. As for memories of Lake Temagami and Camp Chimo, that's another story.
