There is an excellent recount of a lightening strike that occurred on Wabun's Bay trip last summer (via the Pineimuta River) on the camp's website. It's agreat read. There are several pieces from the perspective of the camp director, the staff on the trip and from the young man who was struck. I truly} enjoyed reading it. Here is the link. http://www.wabun.com/newsletter.html |

Thank you for pointing out this great series of articles. I have passed it on to all my camp's trippers (past and present). |

"Bear tha Brunt of" Weather-beaten be a wild element condition thrust upon all who move round in "Back country". If over-head heap big white clouds swiftly rise, "Indian Canoe Country", in short order, will be pierced with lightnen fletched arrows of nor'easter rain-maken thunderstorms. Forewarnen of changes to come! Foul weather be just that. Tune-in & listen to heed sounds of "Wawa Warnen Weathervanes", Heya! |
