Hello Everyone

Can any snowmobiler let me know about ice conditions on Little Scarcrow Lake, Woods Lake and Scarecrow Lake en-route to Ishpatina Ridge. Is the ice safe enough for travel? I am planning to go to Ishpatina Ridge next weekend on March 18/19. Is the ice safe for travel at this time?

Also I would appreciate if someone could let me know if Gervais logging road to Sturgeon river is plowed and can a 4x4 pickup truck handle it all the way to Sturgeon River?

Thank you

A good way to find out if a logging road is plowed is to call the timber license holder of the area. In this case it is Vermilion Forest Management:

According to them, Gervais logging road is plowed up to KM # 38. which is about 15km before Sturgeon river.

Do you know what are the ice conditions are like on lakes in Capreol/Ishpatina area? Are they safe for travel at this time?

Thanks

minran1:
The only people who could answer your question about ice conditions are local snowmobilers or snowtrekkers who may have been up there recently. Most of us including Brian do not live in the Temagami area.
You might try posting your questions on one of the sites frequented by snowmobilers as there are only a few of them lurking about here.

I was traveling Obabika Lk by snowmobile last Sunday, there is 2' of ice and lots of snow cover, that said all lakes are different and some are completely slush and top water covered making travel across difficult.
