Is Ferguson Bay known as a party place? If so, where are some other places to go? |

Brians: Ottertooth is Brian Back's website and he has put a huge amount of work into developing it to level it has achieved. Brian is the one who should be congratulated. I just hang out here to help a little bit, once in a while. As to the logging, I think it mostly stops from about mid June to mid September. After that you will have to live with the noise. They need their time to. |

I must have been having a bad day yesterday. I should have addressed the above post to Gudwolf. Sorry for the confusion. |

Ed, you were quite on the ball providing the link. Before I scrolled further down the page, I was about to go find that map and copy the URL. Brians: Fergusan Bay can indeed end up being a party spot --- though it's mostly limited to Sandy Inlet. I'm guessing any weekend can see at least half a dozen groups spread along the beach, some of which can sometimes be disruptive. For four summers in a row I was up there during the last week of August when Wanapitei is a busy place, and on some nights peace and solitude won't be found on the beach. Across at other parts of Fergusan Bay, though, it can be very quiet. |

Is there any part of lake Temagami which tends to be more deserted than others? |

The South Arm, Southwest Arm, or sharprock inlet tend to be the least travelled areas in terms of motorboat activity. If you want solitude on the lake (as much as you can get) stay away from the Northeast Arm, the hub (Central Area) and the Beach at Ferguson Bay. If you don not wish to go far, you can anchor deep into Shiningwood Bay. If you take a canoe with you, you could then even take a day trip into Olier Lake (From shiningwood Bay)which will offer you even more solitude. It would require a portage though. In this area you would also be relatively close to Highrock. |

Seems to me it is pretty quiet up the North West Arm and the Obabika Inlet. (Message edited by alscool on May 3, 2006) |
