Can't wait to hear Brian Back talk, as well as get his opinion on FOT's current and future course.

We'll see if you want anymore after the first 5 minutes. BTW, anyone who falls asleep when I am talking, or throws a dead skunk, gets bar privileges cut off. It's in my 167-page speaking contract.

Don't worry Brian... it is only old f*.*s like me who doze off and then snore so loud they wake everyone else up.

Plan to bring your own dead skunks as we won't have a supply ... too funny!

I'll be heading up for sure.

Brian, I met you briefly at the Changing of the Seasons a few years back, so it will be great to see you again. I'm all out of dead skunks but is Heckling allowed??

See you there,
Mike

Gentlemen (and any ladies I have overlooked)....
I just want to take the opportunity to thank you for the work you all do. Not just the map making and the advice. But the advocacy and committment of FOT and events like the Change of Seasons.
It may be an elevated sense of melodrama in me, but there seem to be some dark forces at work out there in the world and precious few of your ilk who care enough to take a stand and make a difference.
Selfishly, I will be on a long, extended canoe trip during all the get togethers.
What seems obvious to all of us is not even up for discussion for so many others. Unfortunately, they seem to hold a certain amount of power these days. Somehow, I blame computers for it all.
Have a good time, save the forests and lakes for us and drive home safely. You have my undying respect and appreciation.
Cheers to all of you.
JR

Would have liked to attend today, but alas, had to work here in NC Ohio. Hope Brian was able to speak his 2 cents as I read the AGENDA and his name was no where to be found... unless I missed his alias!

Blessings on all my canoeing brothers and sisters as our canoeing season shortens.

The agenda was specific to the meeting and information topics, Brian's presentation came after the meeting in the evening and considered separate from matters related to and discussed at the meeting. Brian and his talk was the main focus of this year's AGM invite, seen here...
http://friendsoftemagami.org/agm-2011.pdf
The guest speaker is invited to present on a topic of interest to the group and considered as a benefit to the membership that chooses to attend.

Brian presented the environmentalist point of view of the logging, the need for protection and a focus on issues related to the controversial Red Squirrel Road. It was very good.

Unfortunately I couldn't attend the FOT AGM this year because of work commitments.

But by the sound of it, Brian did a great presentation. Just as I would have expected from him.

I wish I could have been there.

'SIGH'

Hopefully next year.
