hi guys,

has anyone tryed this out?
I am looking to purchase a fish finder but is this the real deal?
What are the pros and cons to this fish finder?
I should mention I am currently a land lubber at this time with only dreams of buying a boat in the future.

thanks in advance

here is a pic to go by

I don't know, is it just me or are fishfinders cheating. Where is the sport in spying from above with all our high tech toys. A none fisherpersons perspective.

actually i dont consider it cheating unless it is sending sublimal messages to the fish to bite my line.....lol

It is great to show u the structures that are under water you may not normally know are there and give you an idea of where the fish may be rather then fish a dead zone.

but thanks none the less for the input
appreciated

Shawn

The Humminbird in your pic will set you back $100. approx. plus taxes. Mount it on your wrist or on your fishing rod. Works to max. depth of 100 feet. Wrist mount has a 75 ft. range, rod mount closer to 100.

I read in OUTDOOR LIFE over the weekend about this little depth finder which reported to function much as the larger units do. You actually attach the little green transponder to your line and cast it to the point where you want to see the bottom and the reading shows up on the "watch" receiver. The article also pointed out that the little green transponder might be a pretty good chuckle around the evening campfire after a nice big bass decides to eat the little floating 'frog'! $98 for a lure ~ and it doesn't even come with a hook!

Correction: I just saw an ad for this in our local Fin, Feather & Fur sporting goods store newsflyer. You get TWO little green frogs with the watch for $99.98 so when you lose the first one...(!?) $100 buys a lot of nightcrawlers to go below to find where the fish really} are hiding out!
