There are 6 of us guys staying at Canusa Camp from June 12 to June 17/2012 . Just wanted to know if there are some good fishing spots in and around that area ? We are not going for Lake Trout. We really don't know the lake. Any info of depths and fishing lures to use ??

Since you are not fishing for trout you dont need to go very deep. Fishing around shoals is good for walleye and bass. Live bait, minnows or worms work well. I have had luck trolling with spoon type lures as well for walleye/pickerel. Taking a trail to a lake off the main lake is allways fun. On the lake I have had the most luck in Kokoko, Spawning, and Shiningwood bays. Speaking of Shiningwood, there is lake off of that bay called Ollier Lake. Pretty little lake. Have caught lots of Walleye/pickerel, bass and Pike in there. Been a while since Ive been in there though. Good luck!

Thanks for the info. The only thing is we are using
16 ' boats with 50 hp. We don't have a small boat to get into the smaller lakes. Canusa says they have a boat on the shore of Aileen lake we can use for 40 dollars .I looked at the map and from Canusa I could see us getting lost trying to find the trail to Aileen. I was on Temagami 2 times and it looks like you can get lst easily l.o.l.

Yes, temagami is hard to navigate with all the islands and arms and bays and shoals. But if you have a decent sense of direction and a shoal map you should be ok. Just remember, if you come accross a bouey you are not shure of, slow down, look for the shoal, if you cant see it pass close to the bouey slowly.
