I was surprised to see a hunt camp on Blueberry....especially one so run down. It is truly an eyesore on such a beautiful lake. Anyone know it's status/history??? |

Yeah, it's unfortunate. Never seen anyone there. It needs either a renovation or a match. |

I cannot believe anyone here would condone such vandalism. An abandoned camp is as much a part of the local history as a canoe trail from a hundered years ago. |

Well.....have you seen it? And in case it catches fire in the future....I really was just kidding about the match..... |

Some realities to consider. First, is it an abandoned trap cabin? And, if so, what is the significance of this one. One day, or one decade? There have been a few built, but never used. Second, MNR makes and takes decisions on old structures. And it removes them, normally, by burning. And, it is true, some cabins of significance have been lost this way. |

Now that I have covered my butt in case the thing does burn down..... this is no history trapper cabin. It is a modern, particle board and plywood eyesore. There are propane cannisters lying around. There is a broken BBQ, decaying rubber hoses, plastic pipe, rusting metal,an old fiberglass boat and God knows what toxics ( anti freeze, batteries etc) It looks bad. It desecrates a naturally beautiful lake. It should be cleaned up...... or removed. Is there someone I could call about this ????? |

Talk with someone at MNR North Bay. Trapper, the first option is renovation. |

The same guy on Rabbit point owns the cabin on Blueberry, his name is Dave Linden. |

Well maybe Dave Linden ( who I'm sure is a nice guy) needs to get in there and clean it up....it really does look bad, folks. Seriously. |

I met Dave last summer at the Temagami Boat Livery. He is a nice person! He could be contacted through the Livery and encouraged to clean it up before vandalism occures. I wouldn't want to read a thread like this and find something does happen. |
