We are planning a trip to Obabika and would like to explore the old growth trails. We heard that Alex Mathias can help. Does anyone have information on how to contact him, whether he charges for his service and what is the nature of his service? In the same vein, are there any publications or guides to help a person explore these trails? |

There is a color coded map of the trails posted at the start. Haps newer Temagami book has a map of the Obabika Old Growth Trails also. |

There is contact information at the end of his bio which you can find at http://ottertooth.com/Temagami/History/Characters/ amathias.htm You can discover the trails and the surround area yourself or Alex can give you a guided tour. You could expect local history, personal stories of growing up in Obabika, a smudge, perhaps a sweat lodge experience, a traditional meal with his family. You will need to phone and ask. Tell him his alscool sent you. A trail guide can be found: http://ottertooth.com/Temagami/Sites/waki-tri.htm more at: http://www.ancientforest.org/obabika.html google search Wakimika Triangle
