What's the earliest anyone has run the Makobe? I was thinking the last weekend in April or first weekend in May, cutting across to Alexander Lake from the Cooke Lake Road. I realize this is optimistic but Im looking to get a trip in early this year. Also, I ran the entire Makobe a few years back in mid-summer, can anyone give me an idea of the Class of rapids inthe spring. I'm assuming nothing harder than Class 2, which at that time of yr is risky enough. From what I remember the river is kind of like a striaght roller-coaster, once you're in the current there's little room to eddy out. Thanks |
