Is there a passable road that leads to the Southwest Arm near Baie Jeanne? |

Yes - access through River Valley. There is a clearly marked sign for Baie Jeanne Road. |

Thanks! I had heard that this was the case, but it looked more like a trail on maps. Could we make it to the lake driving a rear wheel drive GMC Safari or is this an off-road type trek? I'll be pulling a light canoe trailer, too. |

Heck.. I didn't know that was there. Surprised they haven't managed to gate that one short of the lake as well considering it's not an "official" access point. |

I stand corrected... was just reading the Municipality of Temagami planning act and Baie Jeanne is shown as an access point with 10 parking spaces, boat ramp and toilet? |

I did the road once. Never again. The last two-mile stretch is the road from hell. Despite being an official access, it can't be maintained or improved. If all you want is a convenient put-in to Lake Temagami, it is just as fast to drive by highway to the lake, and less expensive with wear and tear. |

I was just looking for a closer access than the mine road. Our island is pretty far down the SW arm and we're opening for the summer. I had heard about the road c.10 years ago and wondered if it still were there, thinking we'd canoe in. Thanks for your advice! |
