Will I need permission to stay on bear island for 3-4 days in August and if so should I contact Alex Mathias or who? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks, BK |

I do not know if you can stay on the island. I presume you mean stay as in camping. You would have to get permission from the Chief and or council. The Chief is Gary Potts.

You would definitely need permission from the band office to camp on Bear Island itself. If that doesn't pan out, there are numerous campsites on nearby islands and the mainland, even if they are in a very busy part of the lake.
