Been in Obabika a number of times and am planning to head up with the guys for the first few weeks in September.
We've taken the portage from Obabika into the small lake to the north (the one with the pictographs on the cliffs across from the campsite). I know there's a trail that leads from the end of the portage around to the campsite, but the last time we were up there the trail looked to be overgrown and we quicky lost it. My question is two-fold: Has that trail been maintained recently and is it the same trail that leads through the old growth forest up there?

Sounds like you are referring to Shishkong Lake where Spirit Rock is. But don't know about any pictographs there. The old growth trails are all there and well kept.
