Planning on bringing a group of students canoeing in Temagami rgeion in early June. Are there any campsites on Wasaksina big enough for 6 to 8 tents ? How is the portage from Wasaksina to Cross ? Thank you. |

Don't know anything about the portage but yes there are campsites on Wasaksina that will accommodate 6-8 tents. |

Did the portage last year with a group of women. Some found it "arduous". It is long with some tricky spots(if I remember correctly) with a steep descent into Wasak. The first campsite on the point, at the narrows, just coming into big water of Wasak could do in a pinch but I found an island campsite this winter snowshoeing. It would be located on the right as well coming out of Cross, not too far from the point campsite. Approx 3.5 km from the portage coming from Cross to Wasak. Hope this helps. |
