Two questions: Are permits required for the Sturgeon River? Can I count on the road to the bridge on the upper river to be accessible by the end of June? |

Permits are required for the Sturgeon if you plan to camp on it overnight - it's an active park. The bridge on Gervais road, South of Hamlow lake was easily accessible last year, but recently someone reported flooding on this road. It's an active logging road, hopefully it should be fine by June. |

Our Sturgeon River trip will begin and end at Matagamasi Lake. I'll be traveling up Hwy 11 through North Bay then onto Hwy 17. Where along that route can Sturgeon River permits be purchased? |

Here's a list of vendors, however, it is always changing, and often they have no permits on hand, so call the store first. http://www.ottertooth.com/Temagami/Canoeing/parks. htm
