Has anyone paddled the North River south of Camp 2 lake? I'm thinking of linking from the Chiniguchi region, south down the North and out to Wanapitei. Looks doable based on the Topos and Orthos but I'm not sure about the water conditions, some of those rapids could be bone dry I suppose. |

I always wondered the same thing about floating a canoe. BTW, North River is the old name for the main Wanapitei River north of Lake Wanapitei. |

Hmm well I may attempt a run this June. The portages connecting from Chiniguchi (indicated as Nastawgan on the FOT map)may prove non-existent. Sat imagery shows a lot of logging activity so there may be skidder trails, though likely not to the water. A bushwhack may be needed. Anyone have any insight? |

We're going up this weekend. I'll post my findings here. Could be a great new alternative in the Chiniguchi corridor. |
