Hi All,
A simple question: Is the tower still standing?
I have recently returned from a Chiniguchi/Sturgeon river trip and I could not see the tower from Dewdney Lake.
I have been to the tower before and I was sure that the tower could be seen from the lake....

Unless it was knocked down over the winter or spring, it is still standing. And yes, the tower can be seen most easily from the mid to southernish part of the lake. |

You can only see it for a short time as you paddle north on Dewdney. There is an area in the lower part of Dewdney between 2 hills where it is clearly visible, then it quickly disappears as you move along. |

It is my belief that the tower is no longer standing.
I've checked my records from the previous trip and I do have a picture of the tower from Dewdney Lake. I am 99% sure that from the same vantage point on Dewdney (last week) I could not see the tower (the day was clear and bright).
I don't mean to be a pain but does anyone fly over that area often and could confirm? |

Presumably it is lying on the ground?

I couldn't see it on the ground, we were pretty high 3500 ft. I'll take a closer look the next opportunity. I don't know why they would take it down or how? There is no road access. |

It was taken out by helicopter last fall. |

Why did they take it out? And why the expense? Someone want a tower elsewhere for a tourist attraction? |
