Here is a video of a 1/2 ton truck crossing the bridge on July 28th. http://youtu.be/RynQKXr4i-o You can see by the tire tracks where the tires went and how much the road bed is eroded. Drove all the way to Yorston Lake, had a great time paddling up into the Misabi range. Stayed at Asabi Lake, Talking falls, Pine Lake before looping down through Ames Creek. Nice easy paddling, short days and afternoon naps. It was interesting, the route south from Pine Lake along Ames Creek was passable down through the second unnamed lake. We thought we would give an old road a try that goes directly to Seagram Lake. It was blazed but the road was completely indistinguishable in the bush. It was a very difficult push through the bush making way very slowly for the 1.3km. We wondered if the route down through the rest of the creek would have been easier. Finished up at Yorston Lake back at the truck for a very fine trip. Here is a video of the truck in the last few metres down to Yorston. http://youtu.be/lYZY2svcQqc PT |
