Kudos to Brian Back, Sid Bredin, Ed MacPherson, and Mike McIntosh, creators of the Ottertooth canoeing maps. I still bring along marked up topo maps but the added info on the Ottertooth maps are great. On a recent trip in the Chiniguchi area we were able to discover: - pictographs near the old Keewaydin campsite - the right turns to make on the portage from Sawhorse to Adelaide without walking down the wrong road - the Isle of Quartz - sunken pointer boat Also thanks to those who install and maintain latrine boxes at many of the campsites especially the brand new one on Dougherty. Damn Luxury !

That one was courtesy of the Friends of Temagami, with primary financial support from the Buttrum family of Hamilton. They were constructed by Fenlon Falls Secondary School students under the direction of Mike McIntosh and installed by FOT Director Sid Bredin. More are coming across Crown land in Temagami, 10 in total. |
