The publication of the new Grays River map has me thinking about a short loop trip starting and ending at the portage from Trethewey-Weedend that traverses the Liskeard Lumber Road. I plan on travelling a loop through Trethewey, Makobe and Banks, and back through Elissa Creek and Weedend. A couple of questions for the community: 1) Is there a spot to pull off and park a vehicle at or close to the above mentioned portage on the Liskeard Lumber Road? 2) Is travel down Elissa Creek recommended in September? Many thanks to Brian and the other volunteers that contribute to the making of these maps! They are a source of inspiration for many of my trips, and the attention to detail is second to none.

There is a large area, no very large areas, where the portage crosses the road. September normally has rain, or at least higher water than in the middle of the summer, so Elissa is likely to be fine. (But the rain spirit have yet to be heard from.) And thanks, Modus. |
