Hi,

Just wondering if anyone has information on the state of the portages on this route. I'm thinking of starting at Salvation and moving south through the Expectation...Boyce... Upper Redwater...

Thanks.

Not a well traveled route, hence the quiet.

True, Brian, and for that reason I'm wary of the state of the portages...

Have spent the last 4 summers on a cross Ontario pictograph hunting project so don't have time to do trails in Temagami.
I travelled the area you are interested in when proofreading for the Friends of Temagami map 6 years ago. This map shows the easiest way from Wickstead to Salvation. Desperation to Salvation is long because it follows the windy road. Salvation to Maxim follows the road, then portage cut and flagged in 2013 to a 1 km long pond then a trail cut from the pond to join the creek 200 metres south of Maxam.
