We're heading out next week for a trip, starting at Chance Lk. Does anyone know the condition of the road from Beauty Lk road down to Chance? Do I need a truck to get in there? |

Altogether it's in good shape. After it crosses park boundary the road becomes unmaintained, but still passable at slow speed by sedan. This year I've been only to Gamble, haven't seen the last leg between Gamble and Chance, but unless there's deadfall it shall be in the same condition. |

I've been to Chance twice this year (with a truck), once in May, once at the end of June. Deep mucky mud puddle right in the middle parking lot at Chance where you have to turn around. Have only ever seen other trucks parked there. It may have dried up a bit, but if I only had a car, I'd be starting at Gamble. |

Thanks for your input. We will plan accordingly and I will post the road conditions here when we return in 2 weeks |

We finished our trip last weekend; a beautiful area for paddling! As stated above, the road is in good shape all the way down to Gamble Lk. It could be done with a car, if driven carefully. The final stretch between Gamble and Chance Lk is much rougher and narrower, and less used. I would recommend a vehicle with more clearance; SUV, pickup, etc. |
