Hello All! Hope you've had a fabulous summer with lots of glorious tripping (and not over your feet, lol). Just finished Part 1 of this years trip report. We travelled to a couple places that almost nobody ever goes (Makobe Lake being one, the other you'll have to read to find out!) But first, a detour to paradise - a place that's well known (by temagami standards) and for good reason (so beautiful!) Check it out at: http://www.watermarkwords.org/2017/09/magical-mako be-part-one/ Copy and past the link in your browser. There used to be an option for adding a link to a post here but I can't find it... must be blind. Have a good day! |

Hi Heather, Nice reading and entertaining, as always! I'm sure it was you on Florence lake on July 4 heading for the point-of-isthmus campsite till you saw it occupied. Leaving the next morning I thought that you might appreciate me moving out . Did you see a nest with four or five eggs in the grass right in the middle of the site? When I returned 5 days later it was empty and no eggshells lying around - not a good sign. |

Trying to portage into Airplane Lake: I am impressed by your determination. You have discovered the reason why that portage is not in the Canoe Atlas. |

Eddy! So cool, haha. What route did your trip take? We didn't see the nest but we did see a little sandpiper bopping around the site super close to us - probably her nest? Brian - yup, some year we'll make it. lol. It's nice to have places to explore that really challenge your skills. And judging by the clarity and colour of the water in that little lake we got to, Airplane would be worth the effort! |

Yes, it was her nest and her reason to stay around people. When the eggs were gone she was gone as well. <img> I meanwhile went south to Pinetorch creek and then returned to Gamble. |
