Hello, it has been a long while since I've posted or even read this forum.
We are leaving in two weeks, putting in at Beauty Lake. based on the interactive maps, I see there are no campsites until Gooseneck Lake (other than Beauty Lake itself).
what are the campsites like on Gooseneck?
and as a follow up, what is the portage in to Trethewey Lake like, coming from below Elizabeth Falls?
like many here, the body is failing and the style of tripping has to be adjusted to the new reality.
that said, we all still have the hearts of lions.
and Scotch can cover the gap in between.
also, any tips on fishing the NLER would be much appreciated.
hope all are floating their respective boats with a smile.
cheers from the fire station.

I believe the campsite on Gooseneck is small and near the road. On paddle lake there is a campsite in a cutover. The path to it is on the east side opposite the island.

I appreciate the info.
what is a "cutover"?
pardon my ignorance.
also, any advice concerning the portage in to Trethewey Lake?

A cutover is a logged area. The Trethewey portage is fairly flat and dry.

Unfortunately they have logged the area down to Carmen and have left very little reserves around the lakes in that area. Makes me upset how small the reserves around the lakes are now.
