Hi there,

Is anyone aware of park or crown land camping possibilities, accessible by car (not a 4X4)?

Are you particular to seclusion or a certain area?

HI Brian,

I'd like some degree of seclusion, but I'm not particular to an area. I was thinking Iceland Lake. Little Eagle would be great, but I'm assuming there's too much snow on Red Squirrel and Little Eagle Rds. I'm open to any suggestions you may have.

Right now there is water on top of the ice, but when that is solid again, for the Red Squirrel condition, I would check with Timiskaming Forest Alliance (timfor.com). They may be logging there and have the road open.

Gave them a call; however, the operations guy is OOO this week. If I hear something, though, I'll update this page in case anyone else is interested about the state of the roads. Thanks again.

Just in case anyone elae is interested Timiskaming Forest Alliance just got back to me via voicemail. According to the message, they will be plowing the road this week no further than the "campground." They will not be plowing "any further until the spring."

I'm assuming that by "the campground" they mean Camp Wanapitei.

They could also mean the campground at Red Squirrel Lake?
