Just back from clearing portages. Some big trees were down and a couple of big puddles bypassed on the Laura Creek portage, from Flume Lake to Matagamasi. AND we cleared the trails follows the creek. This will be a little harder to travel, due to loading and unloading the canoe, but it is a very pretty route. |

What do you mean by "harder to travel, due to loading and unloading"? Is the old portage flooded and these puddles require paddling over? |

The Original portage is quite passable now. Muddy sections avoided. Recent tree fall cut. All good. A single carry vs the extra ins and outs of the new trail that follows the stream. Having some trouble posting the map. Will try again. |

Finally, got to travel the new route between Matag and Flume - what a beauty (though a shorty)! Many thanks to red_pine and the team for opening them, it's Laura Creek at its best. |

I was going north. Finding first 2 portages took some time, mostly because I didn't have your map with me and didn't remember what side of the creek ports are on. There are almost no signage, including landings, and I didn't add any myself. |
