Wondering if anyone has recently travelled the portages from Lain through Misabi Lake and into Bob? My sense is those portages see little use but any intel would be appreciated!

I just travelled that route. It certainly sees little use. This not a nastawgan, but a route cut in recent years by canoeists with little experience in creating portages, or maybe too little planning and effort.

As an example, the middle section of the trail between Redtail and Misabi follows the length of a bog. It does not cross a bog or go around it, but follows it down the middle -- for at least 200 meters! The trail should have followed the adjoining dry forest.

Thanks Brian! Not exactly a ringing endorsement but I may just check it out nonetheless. I havenít been in to Misabi before and it sounds like a nice little lake.
