Friends of Chini have a website? Couldn't find one. Planning & daydreaming for next year. Up Chini, down Sturgeon. |

Preacher, Go to www.friendsoftemagami.org or http://www.ottertooth.com/Temagami/Sites/chiniguch i.htm or search Chiniguchi on ottertooth. There is much info here. Bill |

preacher: I am not sure what happened to the Friends of Chiniguchi Website. I notice that the link on Waterwalker does not work anymore. I had thought the site was hosted by AOC but there does not seem to be a link over there. I don't think it is hosted by F of T, although they are connected. Mike might see this post and add some insight. The best maps are here on ottertooth and if I can be of some help, I have done the trip I think you are proposing in 2007. At that time I started at Wawiagama, down the Sturgeon to Kelly's Crossover to Maskinonge then Mattagamasi to Wolf, then Dougherty, to Stauffer and back to the Sturgeon. But there are other options to connect with the Sturgeon. |

It is my understanding that when Friends of Chiniguchi, Nastawgan.ca & Friends of Temagami merged then the sites were shut down except for the FOT. All the info is now on the FOT site I do believe. Someone correct me if I am wrong. MicMac, Alscool, HeavyK how about it? Bill |

All of the above comments are correct - After the Friends of Chingiuchi merger with Friends of Temagami, keeping both websites was redundant. The best maps of the area are available on this website - all of them were developed by Brian Back with input from several of us 'local' paddlers. My advice to you is to pick up the 1:50 000 topo of the area - the map name is Milnet 41 I/15 - this map covers the main Wolf Lake / Chiniguchi / Laura Creek / Marjorie Lk area. Pick up the topo map, add the portage and campsite values from Brian's maps, and you're all set. Plan and daydream away... Mike |
