This July my brother and I did some paddling which took us through the country which Ottertooth folk know and love. Now you can add two more friends of Temagami. I finally got around to organizing the pix from our July 14 to 25 trip which took us to Ishpatina Ridge and Maple Mountain and a whole lot of water in between. If you're interested, heck out the results by clicking on this link (or copying and pasting!) http://web.me.com/albinger/Temagami_2009/Welcome.h tml BTW-thanks to the resident trippers of this site for the many nuggets of wisdom and advice I gleaned while planning the trip. Definitely a positive resource... |

Hi Truenorth, What a great display of your adventure! The pics are fantastic. I have a couple of points. I believe you have named Kettle Falls incorrectly, the large waterfall with the foam is Kettle Falls. As creeky and short as it is, Wakimika has the distinction of a river. I believe the poop to be moose poop. Thanks for sharing.

Alscool, thanks for the heads up on the Wakimika (River and not Creek) and on my mistaken identification of trail scat as bear! I made the changes. My Google image search turned up pile after pile of moose poop that looked just like the stuff in my shot! Definitely something i need to inform myself about- if only to understand who has really been there! Thinking it was bear poop actually changed the way I walked the trail back to the canoe from Maple Mountain top- such is the price of ignorance!
