The last week in April I am heading into Cross Lake from Red Cedar Lake via The Temagami River for a 2 week solo trip and wondering if the river levels are high enough for upstream travel. I know there are several long stretches that are fairly shallow. I have traveled this river many times, but only in the summer. I know from recent posts that the level in Lake Temagami is quiet low, so Does OPG regulate the levels for spring flow at the Cross Lake dam? |

OPG posts flow rates and levels on their website: http://www.opg.com/safety/water/river/sturgeon/ As of April 1st Red Cedar is posted as 0.0cms. Not a lot of flow, if any! |

And that flow is into Island Lake which I am on. So I expect very low water up top for this to happen. Expect lots of portages and lining. I have never gone up river on this stretch although down many times. I have come up the lower temagami river hundreds of times. Have fun and post a report. |
