The last week in April I am heading into Cross Lake from Red Cedar Lake via The Temagami River for a 2 week solo trip and wondering if the river levels are high enough for upstream travel. I know there are several long stretches that are fairly shallow. I have traveled this river many times, but only in the summer. I know from recent posts that the level in Lake Temagami is quiet low, so Does OPG regulate the levels for spring flow at the Cross Lake dam?

OPG posts flow rates and levels on their website: http://www.opg.com/safety/water/river/sturgeon/

As of April 1st Red Cedar is posted as 0.0cms. Not a lot of flow, if any!

And that flow is into Island Lake which I am on. So I expect very low water up top for this to happen. Expect lots of portages and lining. I have never gone up river on this stretch although down many times. I have come up the lower temagami river hundreds of times. Have fun and post a report.
