My boyfriend and I are plainng a trip up to Lady Evelyn and I am just wondering if someone can tell me if there is some really nice campsites and how long it takes from Mowats landing to Lady Evelyn. Also I have read on here there is a shuttle? Is there contact info or do we just ask someone when we get up there? Any tips or extra info would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks again everyone! |

You might provide a bit more information about your proposed trip. Are you planning to go from Mowatts Landing to the Dam by canoe or are you using a motorboat? By canoe you can easily portage up over the dam. By motorboat there is a local family that will load your boat on a trailer and haul it it up beside the dam for unloading on the reservoir.

Mowat Landing (note spelling) is about 2 KM NE of the Mattawapika Dam on the Lady Evelyn River. At 4 KM/HR paddling speed you should be there in about 30 minutes, less if you count the current. From there it is about 7.5 KM up the Lady Evelyn River to Mattawapika Island which marks the NE edge of Lady Evelyn Lake. Figuring 4 KM/HR you should make that distance in another 2 hours or so. Your rate of travel may vary due to skills, load and weather. Jester |
