The road is good to the park boundary. Not sure of rest of the way to Gamble. |

Thanks, Brian - think I might risk it, then... (Message edited by yellowcanoe on July 8, 2010) |

I was there on July 8 with a shuttle. Do not attempt with an automobile! The last 6 km from Kaa to Gamble are very bad, almost impassible. The culverts across the Lady Evelyn Creek are smashed. I got through with the van, bottomed out, and the trailer popped off. I "gave 'er" and came through with the trailer still on the safety chains. Further down, almost to the turn to the put-in on Gamble, were 2 more wash-outs. Trailer popped off again, same story. Not so bad coming out unloaded, still a 'Gamble'. |

Here's the latest: the MNR called us today at Smoothwater Outfitters, because they know we take shuttles in there, and said that the road will be closed this week, Wednesday and Thursday, for repairs on the culverts. I hope they fix the washouts a click further in, while they're at it. |
