How's the section, north of Gamble, where the river crosses the road? The gate was still open?

There was a washout on the road between Gamble and Elissa at the culvert, but vehicles were still getting past, with care. Apparently the gate has a sign on it saying it is open to June 30th. I thought it was supposed to be closed at the end of the snowmobiling season. Perhaps someone else who has actually seen the sign can confirm this. |

Yes Ed. The sign says the gate is open till June, can't recall if it actually said the 30th or not. It has been there for many years and I usually drive right past it. I saw the was out for the first time last spring, thus the talk earlier about bringing a pick and shovel. This was the first spring in a while that I was not able to go to that area. It hurts, but I will be up in the fall. |

You are correct. I just checked with the superintendent and the gate is closed June 15 to September 15. |

I will ask. But I suspect there is, in part anyway, a money issue. Parks would likely have to take it out and parks don't get much respect these days. |

all the decking is removed already all thats left is the I beams.some one cut a couple trees and laid them across. i would think they would repair or remove to avoid the liability issue |

Yes, the bridge really looks unsafe. I would never drive my SUV across it. I suspect those who put the trees there (which showed up last spring) only drove an ATV across. But it still doesn't look safe. What is beyond that bridge anyway?? Any decent paddling or fishing? |

Definitely no paddling beyond. And some really fine examples of clearcuts. |

The fishing at the bridge can be fairly good, as it is upstream. It's even better downstream, but is it good enough down the road to cross that bridge? Can you walk/portage to any fishing spots down that road? |

if youve been to the bridge and seen what people are driving 4 wheeler across there has to be a reason |
