My son and I are planning a trip from Mowat Landing into Sugar Lake for a few days Sept. 6th. I haven't been there for over 20 years . I hear the water levels are very low . Appreciate any feedback . Thanks . |

You can travel on virtually any lake. The concern would be very shallow lakes, like those that are boggy. It is really the creeks where you must be most concerned. More sandbars will be showing in the center of the upper basin of Lady Evelyn Lake, but you can still travel. |

Thanks Brian . I am a bit concerned about the inlet on the west side of the long portage in . If I recall it was very rock strewn and will probably extend the portage . Good to know the lakes are passable . |

It has been a mixed bag for portages. Yes, many landings have moved. Some have become worse landings and some have actually improved. |

tiggo: You might consider calling Red Pine Lodge on Lady Evelyn and ask them about water conditions in the bay and the state of the portage into Sugar Lake. They cache boats in Sugar Lake for the use of their clients, so they may share some information with you. |

I was into Sugar Lake at the end of June and there was no problems at all regarding water levels, I would expect nothing has changed. I did clear a few blowdowns but that was it (Message edited by Jimmy_d on August 24, 2010) |
