Hi folks :
This is my first attempt at any forum period , so please bear with me .
I'm planning a trip to Lady Evelyn lake in early Sept . Just wondering where to camp to be near good fishing but not too close to the camp operators . I am just getting back into camping after a decades long absense so I will be station wagon camping with my 16' Naden boat and taking short excursions by canoe Any advice on hotspots and methods of fishing and tips in general would also be greatly appreciated .
Thanks , nanook

Nanook:
You can't drive to Lady Evelyn Lake.It is a remote lake that you can take a motorboat or canoe into by travelling on the Montreal River from Mowatts Landing to the Mattawapika Dam and then portaging up over the dam to the lake.
Canoeists travelling with packs etc. have other access options available to them.
If you plan to car camp, I suggest you look at other lake options.

Hi Ed :
I was metaphorically speaking when I said station wagon camping . I realize I need to go up and over the dam . I understand that there is a fellow who will take my boat [ station wagon ] up to Lady Evelyn for a fee . I plan to set up a basecamp of sorts and make short forays into adjoining lakes travelling light . Based on that , any suggestions ?
Thanks , nanook

Well I guess I did misunderstand you.

Then it depends on where you camp, but I understand there may be a fishing hole somewhere in the bay that goes up into Hobart from Sucker Gut Lake using your boat. Also you might consider going into Sugar Lake or Angler for a day trip with your canoe.

Hi again All :
I spoke to someone at garden island lodge on lady evelyn re camping and fishing . He suggested south half of south arm and that was it . Any suggestions on sites and fishing more specific or even other parts of the lake ?
Thanks , nanook
